Inn on the Hill

We could easily walk to local attractions from this charming, cozy inn in the heart of Lake George. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless, and the cleaning staff kept it immaculate while being friendly and attentive. Mary Ellen, the owner, greeted us so warmly that we felt at home right away. A real gem, and I’d absolutely recommend it for a memorable stay.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. It looked like it had been updated and painted recently. We stayed just one night and were very happy with the accommodations. I’d definitely return.

I’m late writing this, but we stayed at the end of June and had a good experience. The place was clean, the staff were very accommodating, and the location was great.

We’ve stayed at Inn on the Hill for three years and used to recommend it highly, but this visit left us disappointed. The room was dated and poorly lit, the rugs smelled musty, and there were visible cracks in the bathroom and some furniture. We’d brought a family member in from out of state and were excited to share a place we’d once loved. Mary Ellen first said we could use the equipment at her sister’s hotel across the street, as we had before. But as we walked over, she stopped us and said we couldn’t “camp out” there or “monopolizing the space.” The property was nearly empty in the off-season, so the remark felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. We won’t return, and unfortunately we can’t recommend Inn on the Hill anymore.
