Lancaster Inn

Insects were all over the room, including cockroaches, and the floor was extremely dirty. The shampoo and conditioner provided for the bath had already been opened. My friend even got a bug bite on her face, and we folded towels over the pillows because putting our heads on them felt disgusting. When I complained, the receptionist said too many homeless people used to stay there and that was why it was completely dirty. Worst motel I've ever stayed in.

This was horribly unsanitary and infested with roaches. We paid for two nights and regret it. The room window was wide open and accessible to anyone. My husband and I didn't want to set our things down or take off our shoes, and we slept less than a few hours across two days. There were holes everywhere, no blankets, and the broken shower had water running from it. If you ask for a refund, they keep the payment for one night or day, if they decide to refund you at all. Don't waste your money.

The sink leak under the floor was the last straw. The towel we'd left beside the sink the night before was soaked by morning. We couldn't shower because there was no shower head, and I couldn't turn on the bath with my weak hands. My friend and I had booked two nights but left after the first one. There were problems from the start: the toilet water rose when I flushed instead of draining, and my friend couldn't unclog it. The cable TV didn't work either. We put down a towel after finding the floor wet, though we saw no leak at the time. My friend wanted a full refund, but we only got half. Lancaster Inn says it's under “new” ownership. It used to be a cheap motel but never sleazy; under this owner, it has gone downhill. I'll never stay here again.

This place is filthy, with mold and bugs in the rooms, and it feels like a haven for drug dealers and pumps. The staff are rude and unprofessional. You have to wash your own towels and linen if you want them clean. Some management will take sex or stolen clothes in exchange for a room, and the night manager can get very aggressive if challenged. This place should be shut down. I'll never return to this hell hole.
