The hallway reeked of cigarettes and weed, and the double room had a strong air-freshener scent trying to cover another odor. Some of us have asthma, so we couldn’t stay and left without a refund. There was also a curtained window looking out into the hallway, which didn’t feel safe.

We’d booked this room so our group could freshen up and get ready for an important graduation ceremony after a seven-hour drive. Instead, the place left us deeply dissatisfied, and I wouldn’t consider staying there again. The assigned room smelled awful and had several problems. Corn and other food debris were coming out of the bathroom sink disposal, the bath towels were visibly dirty, and the odor made it hard to relax or prepare. Sarah also gave us inconsistent information about hotel policies, which caused a lot of confusion. Taken together, the condition of the room and the mixed information made the facility seem poorly maintained. The basic cleanliness and service were far below what we expected, especially for an occasion that mattered so much to us.

The room was unbearably hot, like a sauna or hell, and switching off the heat made no difference. My daughter tried a cold shower, but the water started warming up on her. Even the shampoo and other bath products were hot. The front desk had no fan or any other option.

We ended up staying longer than planned, and the staff were wonderful throughout. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the AC worked well, the pool was terrific, and breakfast tasted great. Housekeeping did an awesome job, too. I was glad we stayed and would come back for the pool. There were a lot of people hanging out and smoking in front, me included, though there were no cigarettes available and there were ashtrays. More ashtrays along the sides would help. The road outside is dangerous, with several accidents.
