La Hacienda Hotel

This was my second weekend at the hotel while visiting Laredo for work, and I'll be a long-time customer. The front desk staff are great, the beds are comfortable, the room is always clean, and the AC works well.

We'd driven over 20 hours and still had more than 15 hours to go, so we just wanted a decent night's rest. Everywhere else was booked, so we paid $130 plus tax per room at La Hacienda Hotel Laredo. I walked into the room ready to crash, but the look and smell sent me back to sleep in my truck. My family stayed in the room after I checked for bed bugs. I wasn't happy about it, but figured I could at least shower in the morning. The water was ice cold, though I needed the shower badly enough to tough it out. The cold shower and outdated, smelly room weren't even my biggest complaints. The bathroom was so unclean that I squatted over the toilet, and the toilet wouldn't flush for me, though it later worked for my son. I'd never pay to stay here again. Minus five stars if that were possible. On the drive home, we stayed at a hotel in Oklahoma that was the nicest we've ever been to, and it cost less than La Dumpster/Hacienda.

I stayed because of the parking. I'm a truck driver and didn't want to spend two nights in my truck. The rooms were okay, but not very good, and the pool was there but had no water. The place has some potential, but it needs a lot of work.

We arrived at 1 a.m., found huge bed bugs, and were out of there by 2 a.m. They wouldn't refund us. The person on shift was rude and kept giving us an 'I don't care' look. Worst of all, she admitted they knew about the bed bug problem.
