MILES B.
The breakfast spread was surprisingly broad, with gluten-free blueberry muffins and several dairy-free milk options, along with eggs, green chile, biscuits and gravy, bacon that looked like sausage, breads, bagels, and regular and birthday-cake waffles. There were plenty of toppings, cereals, oatmeal add-ins, drinks, and coffee sweeteners, including honey packets. The coffee was delicious. The rooms are okay, though older and a bit musty, and the couch cushions had some questionable stains. Staff told us hot water maintenance was scheduled, so I showered before it began. That was no problem.

The staff were pleasant and friendly, but this was the most disgusting Marriott property I’ve stayed at in all my work travel. In the first room, I found dirty Nike shorts on the window sill and a used washcloth on the shower curtain. I asked to move, and the next room was just as bad, maybe worse: the sink was clogged with yellow water, and there was a brown spill all over the toilet seat. Both rooms were loud from the highway and very dated, with orange and yellow walls and brown and teal carpet, like a dingy place from the 1970s. I was able to switch to a much nicer hotel a mile or two away for the rest of my trip after that first night.

Update: I gave the property another try, and they’ve improved a lot. The employees are friendlier and more positive, and it seems better managed, so I’ve changed my rating to five stars. Keep it up. On my first stay, I was happy with the room until checkout. It would have been wonderful if I hadn’t been put in an accessible room with no vanity or bathroom area for toiletries. I travel for work using CLC, a third-party booking company, and my employer needs a printed bill to audit the monthly charge. The tall blonde woman working that morning gave me grief when I asked for a printout showing I’d stayed two nights. I planned to return the next day, but said I’d move back to SpringHill on the other side of town for future stays.

Our first room smelled awful, so we switched. Now I’m trying to sleep in a bed with blood and hair in the bedding. There’s blood and hair on the pillows and sheets, and even inside the shower. Do they clean these rooms? The elevator takes forever, and its doors try to close several times before they finally do. Horrible hotel. I don’t recommend it.

The room was simple and really clean, and the person at the desk was great. It’s not especially convenient to the 10 fwy, but still a great choice in town.
