Best Western Plus Las Vegas West

The room smelled like urine when we checked in, and since no other kitchen rooms were available, we put up with it. I had booked a one king bed suite with a kitchen because I had groceries to cook, including expensive salmon. While loading the fridge, I found it wasn't working. It was dusty and unplugged; even after I plugged it in and turned up the cooling, it still didn't work. Maintenance inspected it, brought a replacement, said it worked, and left. Later, a terrible smell came from the fridge, and my salmon and the rest of the food had spoiled. The kitchen was barely stocked, with just one fork whose tines were badly bent. When we asked for another, they brought a plastic fork. The front desk gave no apology or compensation offer when we reported the spoiled food and asked us to pack everything, take it to the desk, get a new key, and move rooms. We also found that running the dishwasher made the sink erupt like a geyser and nearly flood the unit. We were almost done packing when we wrote this and said we'd update the review after the next room. Eventually, we were offered a percentage discount for the lost food and a lower price for the broken, downgraded room. Capitalone travel, which we booked through, also kindly gave us a $50 credit for future bookings. I'd call the place 'Worst Western Minus' for accuracy.
