Americas Best Value Inn Laurel

I’ve been visiting the Laurel area for years, and the reservation and check-in process has always been pleasant. They’ve been accommodating when I’ve needed a last-minute change or made a request. It’s a quiet place, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a nice-screen TV. The area feels safe, with cameras, good lighting, and parking. The hotel sits right in front of Route 1, with places to eat and shop if you go a little farther.

The TV and ice machine were probably the best things there. Our room was the dirtiest, most unhealthy one I’ve ever stayed in, with mold that staff did absolutely nothing about. Customer service was terrible. They just want your money and don’t care about people. Save yourself the headache, and if you do stay, lift the beds and check around.

If you just need an inexpensive, practical room, this place is good value and very easy to reach right off Route 1. Check-in was quick, with efficient staff, and the room was clean and comfortable. There aren't fancy extras, but vending machines are available for late-night snacks. Bring cash for those, since that's what they prefer. It worked well for a budget stay where location and a smooth arrival mattered more than luxury.

This is a cheap hotel, and for reading week weekend it was the best price I could find. The location is handy on the main highway, and you can park right by your room. The room was in decent shape overall, though the furniture was old, the bed just okay, and there were stains on the sheets and floor plus ripped towels. The heating, fridge, and hot water all worked, and service was okay. We skipped the greasy-looking muffins and bars at breakfast. If you don't expect much and would rather pay for a one-star room than get stuck with a full-price hotel, it does the job.
