Relax Inn

I liked the room and its layout. The air conditioning was broken, and although staff could at least have tried to address it when I told them promptly, they eventually gave me a full refund after some back and forth. The main manager seemed stressed, but I don’t think he’s a bad person. I hope his business does well.

A disabled veteran staying there was hospitalized for a couple of weeks, despite always paying on time. The owner Roy threw all of his belongings in the dumpster and said he didn’t care that it was all the man owned. That’s disrespectful to our country. The service is horrible. There are bed bugs and mice, rooms without hot water, heat, or air, and dirty carpets. Their other motels are no better.

It’s not as fancy or elaborate as some places, but it does the job, and the manager is friendly and helpful. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave, and it works well for an extended stay. Traffic and trains make some noise, but otherwise it’s quiet and relaxing. The room size, comfort, quiet, helpful staff, price, and convenient location near places like Walmart and Dairy Queen make up for what the room lacks compared with other places.

I booked at the last minute for one night. It was affordable and comfortable, though very plain and modest. There wasn’t much to brag about, but given my situation at the time, I couldn’t complain either. The staff were friendly, and check-in was quick and easy.
