The Rose room was beautifully themed, and the inn itself looks like a museum. We had such a good time here in the Berkshires. Richard, the owner, welcomed us, along with his lovely wife and daughter and their adorable dog, Holly. The owners and staff were all warm and inviting. Breakfast was wonderful. Guests can sit together at the kitchen dining table, like a family, or choose their own space. There’s complimentary Sherry in the library, where we also learned a great story about the Inn. The place is gorgeous for photos. It’s an old building, so don’t expect everything you’d find in a new one. That’s part of the Whistler's Inn's charm.

The hosts were kind and helpful, and this charming old home feels like a step back in time. Just keep in mind the creaky stairs are tough with heavy luggage, and the toilets have pull chains. Recommended!

If you like vintage style, you’ll enjoy this place. It’s a cozy, beautiful home built in the 1800s, furnished with period pieces, and our room was immaculate and comfortable. Richard, the owner, is a gentleman. We’ll be back, especially since it’s within walking distance of central Lenox.

The African room isn’t in the main house, and I wouldn’t suggest it if you have trouble with your knees or hips. The bed was comfortable, but the toilet wouldn’t flush properly and needed several flushes. That seems typical of an older building, though it still needs fixing. The location is gorgeous, and we loved the service, the people, and the breakfast. Lisa, John and Joan are all great. The food was good and the company fabulous. We loved it here.

My daughter and I stayed in October, drawn by the beautiful antiques and the charm we expected from the Inn. We pictured reading in the library or having coffee on the patio, but once we arrived the place didn’t feel as inviting. We were uncomfortable spending time there outside our room. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves, but we ended up enjoying more of the Berkshires than the Inn. The location is nice for downtown and local attractions, but there aren’t many modern amenities, so keep that in mind. The power went out in our room twice. After the first time, someone showed me the circuit breakers so I could reset them myself when it happened again. There was no fridge, and we weren’t told about any coffee or water available during the day, if it was available. It was a pricey stay compared with other lodging, and may suit some people, but it isn’t for everyone.
