Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge

For one night in a room with two queen beds, I paid $350, which felt ridiculous. I didn't want to stay at Super 8 or Motel 6, the only other places available, but I wouldn't come back here. We couldn't watch TV because the internet was down, and when we called the desk, they didn't seem to care. There were only two decaf coffee pods in the room. My daughter went down for more, but they gave her just two, even though three of us were staying there. The only mirror was in the bathroom, which made it hard for three women to get ready in the morning. The whole stay was disappointing.

The sinks and shower backed up almost immediately. Water collected about two inches deep in the shower before I could get in, so I turned it off thinking the drain was closed. The sink filled up the same way. There was also stuff under the sink, so it hadn't been cleaned there. We only stay at Best Western when we travel, and this was the worst one we've been to. Our room smelled like baby throw up. The desk guy smelled it too and sprayed the room. Whoever cleaned it did a poor job and must have noticed the odor. In a large city, you'd think they'd do better. This is no plus hotel.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful and very good. It's a great hotel complex near VMI, and the staff were very cordial.

Bed bugs came with the price of the stay, apparently. If you want company in bed, this is your spot. I'm not usually picky about hotels, but seeing that critter was enough. There are far better places in the same price range without the extra company. 10/10 do NOT recommend. 🐜🦟🪳🪲🐞🐛🕷️
