Metro Plaza Hotel

The location is convenient for travellers, near union station and close to plenty of places you might need during a hotel stay. The valet guy was great and helpful, and the front desk clerk was well dressed and helpful too. But I can't recommend this place because the third-floor hallway reeked of drug use. I work with people in active addiction, and those smells are often unmistakable. It smelled so strongly of Fetanayl and PcP that I couldn't even walk down the hall to my room. It was really bad, and until something is done, I wouldn't advise staying here.

While I was waiting for a seriously delayed train at Union Station, I found there were no electric outlets for passengers. The kind front desk staff at Metro Plaza Hotel let me sit in the lobby, have tea, and rest while I recharged, literally and figuratively. It's not fancy, but it was just what I needed after travel exhaustion. You'd be hard pressed to find more honest and compassionate people in the neighborhood. Thank you, Metro Plaza!

The staff were always helpful and courteous, and the low prices suited the rooms, which were about like a Motel 6. Nothing special, but no pricing complaints. The neighborhood isn't the greatest, though the hotel is close to a lot, including several restaurants within walking distance and Union station right next door. I'd be careful walking around at night. All in all, my stay was okay.

I got to union station at 4am and felt the area was extremely unsafe. Since I couldn't check into my hotel until 12, I was grateful these folks let me wait in their lobby even though I didn't have a reservation. Excellent service, highly recommend!
