My fiancé and I were making a major out-of-state move after weeks of exhausting travel, and we’d put money down on our first home. We normally avoid hotels because Airbnb in the Los Angeles area is much cheaper, especially when you need to stay several days. After car trouble kept us from reaching the Lexmar, that decision felt even more justified. I booked late Friday night, February 11, 2026, for a stay beginning February 12. We couldn’t arrive until about 9am on the 12th, several hours after the booking, and had missed the reservation. I wasn’t necessarily expecting a refund, but since I’d booked so late and arrived early in the morning before checkout, I thought the room might still be available. I’d also tried calling several times to let management know we couldn’t make it and apologize. At about 10am, an older woman at the desk greeted me with what came across as a smug look. She told me my room had already been booked twice, first by me and then by the hotel, and said I’d have to wait three more hours for another room to be ready after the previous guests checked out. She said there was nothing she could do until then, even though I’d booked the night before at nearly 1am and the room didn’t seem like it should have been used or needed cleaning. Her manner felt like a power trip, and the customer service was horrible. As I left, she said something like, “Welcome to LA. I hope you enjoy your stay, or at least hope it starts to get better from here,” while seemingly trying not to giggle. I was exhausted from the trip and move, and felt she took pleasure in telling me she couldn’t help. They refunded none of my reservation money despite the car trouble and my attempts to call. I found the interaction dishonest and completely lacking in empathy. The Lexmar is central to downtown Los Angeles, so I don’t know how much business this will cost them, but based on my experience I’d avoid it if possible.

The location was convenient, and I didn’t hear road traffic from my room. Staff were friendly and provided good service. Everything I needed was there, including air conditioning and a fridge and microwave. The room was clean, comfortable, and modern, and the price felt like good value. I’d stay again.

We had to book in a hurry after our bus left us stranded, so the price was a bit high, though not terrible. I felt mostly safe, but the thin walls made it somewhat noisy. The decor was nice and the room comfortable, with a good selection of TV channels. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Most of the room was clean, apart from some pilling on the sheets.

A convenient place to stay for a concert at the Echo/Echoplex, about a ten-minute walk from the venue. The staff were friendly, and the room was reasonably clean.

We stayed here for Camp Flog Gnaw 2024 and had a great time. The room was comfortable, and the location worked really well for us. We tried to book again and found it sold out, which is understandable. Anyone going for CFG 2025 got lucky. If the staff sees this, I’d happily sleep in a closet if you have a room. I miss the place, especially for what we paid.
