I almost gave this five stars, but the cramped kitchen layout had us repeatedly banging our heads on the cupboards hanging overhead, ouch! The place is furnished with Ikea, isn't very spacious, and has a little charm plus a great roof deck. I'm hesitant to mention it because we don't want visitors to Venice/Santa Monica to book up all the rooms. There's very little affordable space near the beach that doesn't feel downright spooky.

I was appalled to leave with several hundred flea bites after staying at Venice Admiral Suites. I never went to the beach or even touched the sand, so the bites came from my room. Anyone living by the beach knows rooms have to be treated with flea killer periodically. Apparently they don't care. It took six days and sleepless nights for the swelling to finally start going down.

I stayed here while moving from Michigan to California, and it was a perfect place to make that transition. It's an easy walk to Santa Monica Pier, 3rd st Promenade, the beach, Main Street, Abbot Kinney, Venice Boardwalk, and all the shops and restaurants you could want. I agree with John, I'm hesitant to give away the secret of this amazing place. I wouldn't recommend it for families with children.

This place wasn't for us. The location made it very expensive, and next time I'll pay for parking and look for a cleaner room.
