The room was awful, with a horrible smell, dirty towels and bedding, old drinks in the fridge, a broken lamp for charging phones, and bathroom tile coming down above the shower. There was paint all over the mirror and shower, and we couldn’t get hot water even after leaving it running for over 30 minutes. The front desk said it was because we’d used it that morning and everyone else was using it, though my mom had no trouble in her room. When I needed towels the next night, a woman behind the glass said she had none and wouldn’t go get any. The next day someone in the laundry room claimed she’d left clean towels in our room, despite our do not disturb sign being up. After giving me towels, she went to hide by a pillar and check whether we were lying. There were no clean towels in the room, just the dirty ones, as I’d said. Getting checked in was a mess too. We arrived after the 3 o’clock check-in time and waited over half an hour. The woman at the desk was rude and unfriendly, and didn’t mention the extra $75 deposit until then. She said she wasn’t sure the room was ready because they were busy. One room was right, but the other was meant to be a king. They said they had none because they were overbooked. The manager eventually tried to change it, said it was changed, then said he couldn’t do it and had no rooms. He stayed in his office until the last minute, when he knew we were upset. They tried to charge the king rate for a queen. I said the price had to change if I wasn’t getting what I booked. They charged another $75 deposit, then later credited that second deposit and the room price difference. Nobody apologized. We were handed a key and left to figure out where the rooms were, so we had to ask another woman. We also had to ask for towels again after that cold shower. The woman said she couldn’t help. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The online pictures are very misleading, the place was gross, and the staff need work. I won’t come back.

I stayed at Days Inn by Wyndham Louisville Airport Fair and Expo Center January 23-24. At checkout, I was told my $150 security deposit would be back within 7-10 business days. When that time passed, I called. The receptionist said the housekeeper claimed she smelled marijuana in my room, adding that the housekeeper “does not smoke marijuana.” I don’t smoke, and there was no smoking in the room. The front desk was dismissive, so I contacted corporate. The explanation then changed from marijuana odor to photos of cigarette debris. Those pictures had no room number, timestamp, bedding, mattress damage, or other detail linking them to my assigned room. The only bedding issue was a small menstrual stain on the top sheet. It didn’t reach the mattress or damage anything, and I don’t think that justifies keeping the deposit. The receptionist was rude and told me the hotel didn’t have to provide proof or explain why it was holding my money. That’s what pushed me to contact corporate. With the conflicting explanations, no documentation, and disrespectful service, it feels like they’re keeping my deposit without legitimate evidence. Future guests should take photos and videos at checkout and be very careful with security deposits at this property.

Breakfast was better than I usually find at a hotel in this price range. The fruit was fresh, the coffee was decent, and nothing ran out. My room was clean, smelled nice, and had everything I expected, including clean towels. The front desk was friendly and accommodating. They worked with me when I ran into an issue, and it all worked out. No complaints, I’ll stay here again.

I was there for a full week and ended up more pleased than I expected. The rooms have had some recent renovations, and the service staff were prompt each morning and kept up with what I needed day to day. At the desk, they made me feel like a guest, not just a customer. I often spoke with Tammy, who was fantastic, professional, and in good spirits. I’ll come back to this Days Inn when I return to Kentucky.
