DuPont Suites

I booked through a third party in February for a September stay, and called twice to confirm the reservation. Both times the hotel said they had it. When I called the day before, they said they’d never received it and had no rooms left. The customer service wasn’t very nice, either. I can only assume they overbooked and dropped my reservation because I’d booked seven months ahead at a cheaper price. I had to pay much more for another hotel. Shame on you.

The room photos gave us a very misleading idea of the place. We had to wait for the clerk to come inside from talking on his cellphone, which set the tone. There are no luggage carts or elevator, and the lobby sits between the first and second floors. Narrow stairways connect it to the room floors. For disabled guests, the only way to reach a floor is to go back outside and walk or drive around to a fire exit. We switched rooms three times because each had a strong musty, moldy, or mildewy smell. The rooms are poor quality, and the photos don't show that. The only bath towels were small, thin, scratchy, and had holes. There were no hand towels or tissues. The TV remotes only worked for some stations, and there was no breakfast food at all. Choose this place only if no other hotel is available, and even then, consider moving on.

The staff made a great impression, always greeting us with a smile and often opening the door when they saw us coming. Our room was clean and spacious, and the location was excellent. I'll definitely stay here again.

After my flight was cancelled, the airline put me up here for the night. The owner and staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful with choosing a restaurant. My room was super clean and had a fridge and microwave, which was handy. Thanks, DuPont Suites, for making a difficult night easier!
