Hampton Inn & Suites Lubbock Southwest

We left shortly after 6AM to get an early start on our all-day drive and were glad to find grab-and-go breakfast bags and fresh hot coffee ready. Check-in had been quick and easy, thanks to a helpful employee, and we slept well in a comfortable room. The location was easy to find with Google Maps, and the price was a very good value. We’d definitely consider staying here again if we’re in the area.

For the Texas Tech graduation ceremony, this was a solid place to stay. Lubbock is fairly small, so things are close: the campus is about a 15 minute drive, and the airport about 20 minutes away. There are plenty of dining and shopping choices nearby, including a lively mall. The rooms are a good size and well appointed, with a TV, fridge, and microwave, plus an iron and board. There’s a nice breakfast area with grab-and-go choices. Some mornings, bags with water, bagels, and peanut butter were at the front desk. Other mornings, we found bags in the breakfast area and could put something together to eat on the way to activities. There’s also an indoor pool and a well equipped fitness center with a full set of dumbbells up to 50lbs, a great way to keep up with aerobic and strength training.

We stopped for one night with our dog while passing through. The hotel was clean and nice, and the room was cozy with everything working. The pillows were a bit small, and there was no conditioner. Staff were very polite.

We’re an older couple, and the courteous staff made a great impression on us. The hotel was new, nice, and clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the shower was a pleasure to use. Breakfast was impressive too. I was impressed with everything at the Hampton Inn Southwest in Lubbock, and we’ll definitely stay there next time we’re in town. Sandra Miller
