Southern Inn Lumberton

The only good thing I can say is that we didn't find bedbugs. This was a sketchy hostel at best. There was fly paper hanging from the ceiling, what looked like a blood spot on the sheets, and blood and dirt on the bedside lampshade. The bathroom had rusty metal, and both the shower gel and shampoo dispensers were filled with Dial liquid hand soap. Behind the bed, a questionable outlet left wires and prongs touching the sheets. I needed another outlet for a fan, but this one was unsafe. The floors turned our socks black. When I told the manager, he blamed humidity and people tracking dirt in, then claimed the room had been cleaned. I wiped up spilled water with a towel, and the picture shows what it picked up. We were driving from Florida to New England with our two dogs and needed a last minute place. The room was very dirty and poorly maintained. Do yourself a favor and go one or two exits north, where there are better options.

The room was clean and looked well cared for, and it was in a quiet part of the hotel. The price was reasonable too. Nice stay, and I'd come back if I'm in the area.

The owners were so nice to me when I arrived exhausted in the early morning. I got what I needed: a clean room, a bed I could have slept in for days, and really hot water for my sore muscles. I'm just passing through, so it'll have to wait until my next trip this way, but they were good people and I'd absolutely recommend staying here. It felt like a home away from home.

A safe, clean place to rest right off I-95. The owners were really nice, and I slept well before getting back on the road. Parking worked great for my van and trailer. I'd definitely recommend it for a stop while traveling.
