Welcome Inn & Suites - Lyons

I walked in, saw the room, and left, even knowing I wouldn’t get my money back. It reeked of urine and cigarette smoke. The walls and surfaces were stained all over, with what looked like urine, maybe blood, and other stains I couldn’t identify. The floor was sticky, the large window couldn’t be latched shut, and the lighting was almost nonexistent. The wall switch didn’t work. It felt like a health hazard, and the room looked like a potential crime scene or biohazard, maybe both. The clerk said there were no refunds, but I couldn’t justify staying there.

This should seriously be zero stars. The photos don’t show how bad it really is. My room had dead outlets, hair in the bed, a filthy bathroom that hadn’t been swept, and questionable stains on the floor. There were holes and chipped paint everywhere, and the bed and pillows were terrible. The only upside was that there were no bed bugs.

Maybe it was just the room I got, but it wasn’t good. I remember the rooms being better when this place was called the presidential inn.

We loved staying here as a family. It was the best place for my fiancé and our children, and everyone was so sweet and nice. I’ll come back every time.
