Sleep Inn & Suites Madison - Monona

This hotel has worked especially well for me when I'm towing a trailer, unlike some motels and budget places. It's a handy stop on my way to Minnesota, with comfortable beds, a quite good breakfast, and a large, well-lit parking lot that makes the area feel safer than some places. The desk staff have always been awesome. They were accommodating with our pets on arrival, and after we left, they went the extra mile and mailed an item we'd forgotten. The whole team was helpful and courteous. Thanks to the staff and management.

I left without staying, even though the room was fully paid and cost wasn't the issue. I'm still waiting for my full $100 deposit. The next day, I called twice and asked other employees what a room deposit would be, and both told me there wasn't one. I had tried to check in as a paying guest at Sleep Inn & Suites in Monona WI, but because I'm a woman and because of what I was wearing, staff scrutinized me and ran a background check based on my appearance. I found that invasive, judgmental, and inappropriate. I felt unwelcome and unsafe, and the interaction left me anxious, embarrassed, humiliated, and emotionally distressed. This raises serious concerns for me about guest rights and possible violations of anti-discrimination policies. No one should be treated differently or denied service because of gender, clothing, or appearance. I'm sharing this so the hotel is held accountable, and so someone above local management reviews staff training and policies, prevents unwarranted scrutiny and emotional harm, and sets procedures to ensure equitable treatment and professional hospitality. Guests should feel safe, respected, and valued.

I'm staying here for three weeks, and this is the coolest place I've ever stayed. My long-term room has a stove, dishwasher, and coffee pot. They also lend you things like a crockpot or blender if you need them.

The kids and I had lots of fun in the pool, and breakfast was good. It's a great family hotel, with clean, comfortable rooms where we slept well. The staff were great, especially the breakfast crew. I'd highly recommend staying here.
