The Dylin

We felt secure using the entry codes for both the building and our room, and check-in and checkout were straightforward. When the fire alarm battery died early one morning, someone came up and fixed it within 15 minutes. The room had all we needed, from kitchen supplies to a sound machine. There was easy street parking right outside for the weekend, with handy underground parking on site as another option. The Dylin suited our family perfectly: close to everything in Madison, but on a quiet street. We'll come back and recommend it.

I walked all over downtown in the gorgeous weather, and the location made that easy. The app's restaurant tip was excellent, Sardine is not to be missed! Coffee matters to you? There was a great selection in both the room and lobby, with no extra charge. Text communication was straightforward, and the rooms have everything to make them feel like a home away from home, including a washer and dryer. A great option.

Just a heads-up that The Dylin doesn't work like a regular chain hotel. There's no front desk or on-site staff, pool or hot tub, or complimentary breakfast, so some people may find it bare-bones. Parking at $30 felt steep; unless the weather is bad, street parking may be a better choice, just watch the signs. My first stay here was a good one, and I'd recommend it. The place was spotless and very quiet, with thoughtful interiors and amenities. Online check-in was easy: the link provided the main entry and room codes once I finished. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with strong water pressure, and the kitchen and living area were a plus. I didn't use the in-unit washer and dryer. The neighborhood is about half a mile from the Capitol, downtown shops, and restaurants, with plenty of people about on foot.

The coffee bar in the lobby could use clearer instructions and more supplies. Otherwise, my Halloween weekend at The Dylin was great. It was spotless, roomy, and thoughtfully put together in a modern style. I liked having a full kitchen, the shower pressure was good, and parking was easy to get to. The location was just right, near everything but still in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood. This is where I'll stay whenever I visit Madison!
