Even Manchester Airport

The price was right, and the room was clean, but signs of wear showed throughout the building. The grounds weren’t well maintained either. Even a quick sweep out front would have helped. A little effort and attention from management could make a big difference. It was still a decent stay for the money, but I probably wouldn’t choose this location again when passing through. The last Even I stayed at was new a few years ago, and I think this one was built around the same time. It’s due for a refresh.

The fitness center had a fair amount of new equipment, and it all worked well for a hotel in this class. Having filtered water and ice on every floor was also really convenient. I stayed on the fourth floor in July 2025 and had little interaction with the staff, but everyone was nice and there were no issues. The room was fine overall, though the computer desk chair was visibly stained. It had an exercise ball and bands too, which I didn’t use, but I’m sure some guests would appreciate them. The water took ages to heat up, but eventually it did. The stay was pretty much what I expected from what I’d read online.

The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. We asked a housekeeper in the hall for fresh towels and for the bed to be made, since we didn’t need the rest of the room cleaned. She sent us to the front desk. They said they’d take care of it, but when we came back that evening nothing had been done, even though they acknowledged we’d asked. When I followed up, I was handed two clean towels. The shower was nice, but the temperature controls worked backwards. Turning toward cold gave hot water, and turning toward hot made it cold, so be careful or you could get burned. One of the two elevators was out of order, and the inspection on the other had expired several months earlier.

I’ve stayed here often, but the cleanliness has been disappointing me more and more. I checked in on the 17th last week and left right away. When I came back that night, there were disgusting looking stains on the sheets and towels. I showed the photos to the front desk, and they said nothing, just moved me to another room. I thought I was in 428, but they moved me to 434. The bathroom floor there was covered with a layer of black dirt that looked like footprints. There were snack crumbs in a corner and a big piece of potato chip by the AC. My husband deleted the photo of room 434, otherwise I’d have posted it. I felt truly disgusted this time. I paid so much for one night, and this was the service and hygiene at a 3-star hotel.
