The food was great, and the staff were great whenever they were on site. Our room was very nice, but the thermostat took the temperature up to 90 degrees. There was nobody to call, so we had to open the door and window. The heat made my wife ill. Someone worked on it the next day and it improved, but guests still couldn't control it. On the second night, a private dinner took over the guest common area.

I enjoyed my stay. It was very clean and quiet, and the bed was clean and comfortable. I got used to climbing the 40+ stairs.

We spent 2 nights in the Williams room. It was neat and clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I was a bit hesitant because of the location's early history, but we weren't disappointed with anything. Check-in on Sunday was easy when we followed the specific instructions. There are two flights of about 20 steps each, with a landing between them, so it may not suit anyone who has trouble with stairs. We only had a couple of drinks in the bar, where the serving staff were very friendly. Apparently it's a very popular place!

We had the Riley room for late September Sunday and Monday nights. It's a huge, interesting five-sided brick-walled king room, with 12 foot ceilings and windows on three walls. The breakfast area is convenient, and it was very quiet since I think we were the only guests at the hotel. I'm not sure how it would be when there's a concert next door and more people around.

The restaurant and bar being just downstairs was so handy. We had delicious food, then only a short walk back to our room. My boyfriend and I came for a weekend getaway, and the staff were great. The room was beautiful and very clean. We’ll definitely be back soon!
