Jen and Dan made our weekend in Ludington feel so welcoming. After showing us around, Jen brought out freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and the next morning she and Dan made a delicious breakfast. They also chatted with us and suggested places to eat and things to do beyond skiing, including a lantern night hike at Ludington State Park. They’re genuinely kind people who know how to host. My husband and I found The Lamplighter while planning a trip for just the two of us, and it turned out to be the coziest B+B. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

The Carpenter Room was comfortable, and I appreciated having a fridge with water and soda just outside the rooms. There was also a coffee, tea, and cocoa bar in the dining room available all day and night, with dessert to enjoy. Jen cooked a delicious breakfast. We were here for one night during a fall foliage tour, and the house was lovely. Dan and Jen have thought of so many useful touches. I’d happily stay again when I’m in the area.

I’ve been here a few times and keep coming back. It’s under a mile on foot to the beach and only about a 10-minute drive to the state park. Jen and Dan are lovely hosts, and breakfast and the homemade cookies are great. A good spot for a retreat, whether you’re on your own or with family.

After a day out, coming back to a plush bed, soft pillows, and a cozy room was just what I wanted. There’s plenty to explore nearby, from Stearns Park Beach and Ludington State Park to the 130 steps at Big Sable Point Lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast is a charming, beautifully decorated home, and the breakfasts are delicious and so nicely prepared. Jen and Dan have made it feel like a place you’ll want to return to. Book it!

Breakfast was a highlight each morning, fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Our room was charming, clean, and comfortable, with a cozy fireplace that made it easy to relax after exploring. Dan and Jen welcomed us right away and were thoughtful and attentive throughout our stay. We had a lovely time at The Lamplighter Bed and Breakfast in Ludington, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing visit.
