Siesta Inn McAllen

I left this review because of what happened on our trip, and I do write both positive and negative reviews. I take photos and try to credit helpful employees while pointing out poor service. The listing made the hotel look amazing, but the pictures don’t match the room we got. We waited hours past check-in because of construction, as the receptionist told us. We asked for a discount and were turned down. They offered a smaller room, but wouldn’t lower the rate, so we declined. We would still have been charged for a King suite. The booking site gave us a small credit for a future stay at another hotel, and I won’t use this property again. Our room had a constantly dripping shower, chipped bathroom surfaces, a badly fitted door that let in hot air, and unreliable hot and cold water. The fire alarm also kept going off. We raised these problems with the manager, but got no compensation, just a room change at the same price. The manager’s response later acknowledged the faucet and water issues, but denied construction in the rooms, despite the receptionist mentioning construction and repainting doors and rooms. They said they had CCTV in the lobby, so the check-in timing could be reviewed. The response also ignored the photos of the room and the credit we’d received, and suggested my reviews were false. I’ve posted glowing reviews for other businesses as well as negative ones with photos. I noticed some local guide reviews were paid comments, and it seemed those reviewers quickly turned on guests.
