Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell by IHG

The location is nice, but getting a straightforward late checkout sorted was needlessly stressful. I needed a quiet, private room until about 2:15pm to give a presentation to a large audience, and I repeatedly offered to pay. I asked around five times over several days and was told it wouldn't be a problem. On checkout day, the front desk first directed me to a private rooftop room, but someone was already using it. After several slow elevator trips, I was told it had been given to someone else. The manager then offered another hotel room until 2:30pm, but that room also had someone else's belongings in it. Eventually I was allowed to stay in my original room until 2:30pm, which was what I'd asked for from the start. While I was in the room, staff tried to enter to clean it three times, despite the do-not-disturb sign and my having told the front desk. There also seemed to be recurring trouble activating room keys properly. The elevators were very slow, and the scanner system made each trip take several minutes. Other problems: the AC didn't seem to work, the heat was completely off, the gym is tiny, and the hot water took about 10 minutes to warm up on the first day. The Indigo Hotel in Miami has a good location, but poor coordination, communication, and basic operations made the stay frustrating.

The room was clean, check-in went smoothly, and the front desk was nice enough. Hot water was consistent, though using the shower made a strange clicking sound from the walls. The hair and body products were good quality, probably the best part of the room. Noise was the big problem. With no carpet and very little furniture, the rooms echo like caverns, so a partner's snoring can bounce around and keep someone awake. We also heard outside and hallway noise, and there was no sleep for one of us. They provided just two towels for two people, which wasn't enough for me with long hair. The place feels skimpy for the price. I know Miami is expensive, but I've stayed at much nicer IHG hotels around the country for less.

We booked this for the night before a cruise. The room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable, and the location seemed good. We walked to a nice dinner nearby. The room next door was so loud it sounded like those people were in ours, which is why I gave it a 3. We also asked someone at the desk to arrange a private transfer or taxi to the port for the next night. They said the driver would ask for us upon arrival, but when the time passed and we checked back, the desk had no idea what we meant. We ended up booking a Lyft. The positives would have made it a 5, but I won't stay here again.

For a stay of less than a day before our cruise, the hotel looked nice and was convenient. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper, the rooms aren't quiet. The gym has some free weights, ellipticals, and treadmills, but it doesn't look like it gets cleaned much. It took ages for the shower and sink water to get hot. Also check your bill at checkout, because they tried to charge us for coffee we'd already paid for at breakfast.
