Fairfield Inn & Suites Harrisburg International Airport

The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was fine, but the parking situation and the manager's response left me questioning whether I want to keep using Marriott hotels. I stay with them often. I drive a Dodge Ram with a 20-foot trailer and asked to leave it for one day because I needed items from the truck before moving it to the airport lot. They said they'd get back to me, but nobody did. Since I was a paying guest, I parked there. The next day the manager complained when he saw it, claiming the airport had called because my vehicle was in the hotel lot instead of the airport lot. That felt ridiculous, and he seemed upset simply because things hadn't gone his way. Guests are paying to park, yet parking itself was difficult. What do the hotel rules actually say about which vehicles are allowed? The manager also needs to be more attentive and understanding toward guests.

The airfield view was a nice surprise, and I found the beds cozy and the atmosphere welcoming. I booked mainly to be near the airport for an early flight, but ended up enjoying the stay. The person who checked me in went out of their way to help. There's also a bar and restaurant in the lobby with great food and drinks.

The room was just right, and the location is fantastic. Everyone provided great service, too. Dinner was only okay: I had a burger and an arugula salad. I didn't use the gym this time, though I'm glad it's there.

A canceled flight is the only reason I stayed here. The airport is close and the view is pleasant, but the place felt overrated and overpriced. There was a strong cigarette smell that made the atmosphere feel like an ashtray. The TVs seemed dated, and the water had a strange, almost soapy or detergent-like quality.
