La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Midland North

The hotel was spotless and in a convenient spot for our trip. We missed the chance to have breakfast there, so went to the nearby Cracker Barrel instead. The in-room coffee setup had no regular coffee, which was disappointing. The front desk said they were completely out.

First stay here and I was impressed. The room and service were excellent, and it was very clean and quiet. The bed was really comfortable too. Whenever I travel out of town, I stay at La Quinta!

For a mid-priced place in Midland/Odessa, this La Quinta is pretty much what I expected. The price seemed fair for what’s included, especially free wifi, breakfast, a gym, and pool. My room and bathroom were reasonably clean, and the well-lit parking lot and surrounding area felt safe. It was nice to walk to the Korean bbq spot in the nearby strip mall. I didn’t try the breakfast, and the pool was closed during my visit, so I can’t comment on either. The wifi was slow and sometimes unreliable depending on where I was, while the very basic gym had equipment that needs maintenance or replacing. Traffic from the nearby highway could be heard all day and night with the windows closed. The tub needs a deep clean, and the faucet and shower head should be fixed so the water can be fully directed to either one. The safety lock on my room was broken, as shown in my picture.

Just one night in the executive king. The room was spacious, which was great for my husband and dogs. It could’ve used a more thorough cleaning, but it was fine overall. Starbucks is close by.
