Studio 1 Hotel & Extended Stay - Missoula

The AC in our room didn’t work, but the front desk moved us to another room without any trouble. Then at 1am, an employee came banging on our door and woke us up. There’d been some confusion on their end, and they were trying to give our room to someone else. They apologized quickly when my husband answered.

I’ve been renting a room here for about six months, and they understand my situation and provide great service. The managers are friendly, and Lily and Ralph at the front desk are always the first to say hi when we pass. The night desk guys are friendly too. Housekeepers are awesome, the hallways are always clean, and maintenance issues get handled in a timely way. It’s the best motel I’ve stayed in for a long time here in Missoula.

There were lots of nearby places to grab restaurant food, and the location worked well for my needs. The stay itself was rough, though. I paid $380 for two nights during a sports weekend, and the room smelled musty. I also couldn't eat anything at the breakfast bar as a diabetic. I had some cleanliness concerns, although the bed seemed okay for a couple nights. Guess that's what I get for booking at the last minute.

We were exhausted and it was already past midnight, so we stayed, but otherwise we probably would have gone somewhere else. The bedding looked like it had been changed recently, and there was no sign of bedbugs. The rest was well below even the standard you'd expect for the price. The hotel is far from the interstate, which made it inconvenient for getting back on the road. Check-in took at least half an hour because staff seemed disgruntled and confused by one desk serving two businesses in separate buildings. After that, we had to cross a dim parking lot to reach our building. It had heavily stained carpets and no working lights at the entrance until we walked in and plugged in the lamps ourselves. The shower pressure was weak and kept changing every 30 seconds. Steer clear.
