The staff made this work stay feel especially welcoming. Everyone I dealt with, from the front desk and bar team to the behind-the-scenes service staff, was thoughtful, professional, attentive, and friendly. It felt human rather than scripted, and the care in small details mattered after long workdays. The property was comfortable and efficient, and I left feeling looked after, not just accommodated. I spent four nights at the Monterey Marriott for work. Once there, I could walk to good dining and coastal views and enjoy Monterey without getting back in the car. For farther trips, Uber and Lyft made it easy to reach Carmel-by-the-Sea, 17-Mile Drive, and Pebble Beach. The location stood out, and I'd absolutely stay again for work or a mix of work and exploring.

The resort fee surprised me in a good way. Usually it feels like paying extra for nothing, but here it covered a lot of practical things and felt worthwhile. There were water and soda dispensers too, a handy touch you don't see everywhere. The gym was excellent, and I appreciated the outdoor exercise equipment and swimming facility. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with lots of options. The Marriott in Monterey was beautifully maintained, and my room was spotless. The valet was great when we arrived, and the staff made us feel welcome. If you want thoughtful details and a genuinely friendly team, this is a good choice. We'll be back.

The beds and showers were very comfortable, breakfast buffet was good, and the dinner restaurant was nice. Staff were friendly too. The hotel is in a great spot, an easy walk to the beach. The only downside was valet parking, with a narrow, crowded drop-off area.

We had an issue with the booking at check-in, but front desk manager Emily, I think, stepped in and helped Isaiah sort it out quickly and professionally. She was patient, friendly, and so helpful, and we really appreciated it. The whole team was warm and smiling. The bell desk took our bags straight to the room, which made arrival easy. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a heated pool and hot tub, a good restaurant and bar, and a fun beer tasting. Fisherman’s Wharf is a short walk away, and there are lots of downtown food options nearby. We loved the stay and would happily return. For parking, we skipped valet and used a nearby City of Monterey self-parking lot, half a block away, like Calle Principal Garage. During enforced hours, 9am-6pm Mon-Sat, you can pay through ParkMobile. Check whether it's free on Sun. It was $1.50/hr or about $8 for the full day, plus a small ~$0.40 app fee. Parking was free after 6pm until morning. If the lower covered lot is full, try the upper level. The signage is confusing, so take a photo of the main sign or check the app and zone number right away. Paying from the hotel room was convenient. Thanks to Emily, Isaiah, and the whole team!
