Ramada by Wyndham Monterey

The bus stop is right nearby, with restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance, and it felt like a safe, nice place to stay. I had a great two-night visit. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and my room was clean, comfortable, and nicely set up. All the amenities worked perfectly. I couldn’t have been happier.

The staff were the standout for me, really excellent, kind, and helpful. Rooms were very clean and the nightly price was great. Just be ready for noise: the walls are thin enough to hear TV, loud snoring, or someone pacing back and forth overhead. The hotel also sits right under the airport approach, so the 5:15 AM landing sounds like it’s happening on your pillow. The neighborhood isn’t especially appealing, but it’s broadly okay. The Creperie Cafe and The Butter House are close by and not to be missed. If the low price works for you, or noise doesn’t bother you much, the place is fine.

It wasn’t fancy, but it was a nice stay for a reasonable price. The room was in great shape, very clean, and quieter than I expected. The desk clerk and manager were polite, kind, and helpful, and they accommodated my last-minute request to change rooms. Coffee was good with a nice selection, and the vending machines had good options too.

The interior rooms were clean and usable, with okay beds, a TV, microwave, small coffee maker, and fridge. Getting to the location was easy. Still, I wouldn’t stay here again: the outdoor walkways were dirty, the building has two stories and no elevator, there was no breakfast, and the nearby airport made it loud.
