Tru by Hilton Mt Pleasant Charleston

We paid over $330 a night and expected better. Our room was never cleaned, and I had to go to the front desk for towels. The front desk girl was always on her phone and very unprofessional. During breakfast, I had to tell the desk twice that they were out of eggs, and that they were out of coffee and hot water. The TV kept freezing, too. Poor management and staff. I would not recommend staying here.

The room felt cramped, especially compared with other Tru hotels we’ve stayed at. It was clean and worked fine, but there isn’t much space, which could be tough for more than one night or with another person. The rest of the hotel is modern, clean, and seems fairly new, and the staff were friendly. I especially appreciated the Tesla charger since Charleston doesn’t have many superchargers. The location is convenient for both downtown Charleston and the nearby beaches, so getting around was easy. A solid choice if location and EV charging matter to you.

The staff have always been kind, caring, and supportive when we’ve come to Charleston for doctor’s appointments. They remember my mother in law and consistently go the extra mile to make sure the place feels safe, clean, and supportive. My sister in law stayed often while dealing with terminal cancer and making many trips to MUSC, and the staff were wonderful to her. Once, when my father in law suddenly had a pulmonary embolism, the staff helped save his life. I’m so grateful for how much care they’ve shown our family.

We’ve stayed here for years when visiting the Isle of Palms and have never had a problem. It’s about 8 minutes from the beach and about 15 minutes from Downtown Charleston. The rooms are a little small, but they’re updated and comfortable, and the staff are always nice and available. We also make good use of the pool table in the lobby when we get back late at night. This is an excellent mid level hotel. Recently I booked the wrong dates by mistake, even though the reservation was non refundable. The hotel kindly canceled it and refunded us, so we could book the correct dates. Thanks for understanding!!
