The garden cottage was so comfortable that we scrapped our plans to head back out and fell asleep there instead. After long days of wine tasting, it was exactly the place to relax, and the room was spotless. Breakfast was another standout, especially the memorable French toast and the fresh pastries they baked each morning. They also rotate the breakfast dishes, and everything we tried was great. We'd never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and 1801 First made a lovely first impression. The owners were warm and shared useful suggestions for things to do, places to taste, and local highlights. Downtown Napa is about a five-minute walk, while St. Helena is roughly a $30 Uber ride away. We're definitely coming back. 1801 First is a gem.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff looked after us from the morning right through bedtime. Everyone was kind, attentive, and very professional. We really enjoyed our stay, and the location made it easy to walk around the neighborhood and into downtown.

Waking up to the smell of breakfast cooking was one of my favorite parts. Laura was welcoming and a lot of fun, and both the service and location were amazing. We'll be back to visit!

The finishes feel a little dated, though everything works as it should. The service was perfect, including breakfast and the afternoon wine and charcuterie. It's an easy walk into town, around half a mile, and the location is great.

We had a lovely weekend here. The welcome wine and especially the appetizers were outstanding, and breakfast had some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Our carriage house was spacious, with a very comfortable bed. It's a quiet spot but still an easy walk to everything in town. Highly recommend!
