Candlelight Inn Napa Valley

The three-course breakfast was a highlight, and it changed every day. In the evenings there were cookies, brownies, and cheese plates too. The staff were all so welcoming. My friend and I stayed in the spacious Lady Heather room, with its gas fireplace, in-suite jacuzzi, balcony, and views over the pool and backyard. It came with robes and an espresso machine, and housekeeping came daily. The place has that sweet, cozy cottage feel, and it met all our expectations. It’s on a very quiet street, just a few minutes from downtown Napa. We’d happily stay here again.

Fresh cookies and the daily three-course gourmet breakfast were the best part of the trip, especially before a day of wine tasting. At Candlelight Inn Napa, we also had a cozy room with a fireplace and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The staff were warm and welcoming. My husband and I loved our stay and can’t wait to return.

We wandered the peaceful grounds and had a yummy breakfast. The room felt authentic and comfortable, and the lobby fireplace was wonderfully cozy. At check-in they offered us wine and cheese, and there were delicious cookies and brownies too. It’s a lovely, relaxing place with a real throwback feel.

The breakfast was delicious, especially the egg dish, and we had a quiet night in our cozy, nicely decorated poolside room. The bedding felt soft and silky, though my husband liked the bed more than I did. I didn’t find it supportive enough. The property is charming, and the staff were warm and personable. They offered complimentary wine and cheese plates, which was a nice touch, though we’d just returned from tasting and declined. The poolside room did have a chlorine smell. WiFi was slow, and cable TV wasn’t very useful since none of the movies we tried to watch were available. We couldn’t get the jacuzzi working, even after calling the front desk for help. I’d chosen the Brittany room over a cheaper one specifically for that feature. When we asked if the price could be adjusted to match the room we might otherwise have booked, we were told no. We’d paid over $400 for the night after tax, and the apology was a free bottle of inexpensive red blend. The EV charger also only works with Tesla, so it wasn’t compatible with our Bolt. We enjoyed our stay, but given the price and reviews, I expected more. Four stars is the most I can give.
