Days Inn By Wyndham Staten Island

The rooms and staff service were fine, about three stars each, but the location wasn’t great for sightseeing, closer to two stars. I stayed here on vacation and found it pretty average. It works as a place to sleep, though you’ll need extra travel time to get to the main tourist spots.

The only real drawback is parking. We found a spot right away less than half a mile away, so parking on a side street and walking worked for us. The complaints about missing cups seem silly when you can ride the elevator down, pick some up, and be back in about 53 seconds. And if the room isn’t being cleaned every day, okay. How messy are you? Unless you’re wiping yourself with the blankets, it shouldn’t need cleaning daily. Let’s not be completely helpless, babes.

The free breakfast was excellent, though the coffee urns could be bigger since the coffee ran out. Rooms are small but manageable, and there are no closets. That’s fine, but then there should be hooks in the room and bathroom. The hotel is very clean and well kept, and I’d stay again. Parking is only on the street, and the bus stop is right in front for easy access.

Hair from previous guests was everywhere, including the floors, shower walls, and conditioner pumps. I had to clean the toilet seat and chair as soon as I arrived. The room was dirty and disgusting. I asked for an iron and ironing board but didn’t get either. The walls are paper thin, and there’s no parking lot. I don’t recommend staying here. Next time I’m in Staten Island, I’ll pay extra for a clean, nicer hotel in Manhattan or New Jersey. Get a better cleaning service.
