The Solita Soho Hotel

A cute, quaint little hotel, just right for our Canal Street shopping trip. It was clean, the staff were nice, and the spot next to a 24-hour deli was a plus for our two-day stay. They were accommodating, though a bit pricey. The phone in the room never worked, and there are no cable channels.

Chinatown is about a four-minute walk away, and there’s a 24-hour deli two minutes from the hotel. The staff were friendly, and the service and location were good, but the stay was bad overall. We booked a room with two queens, but it wasn’t available when we arrived, so we were put in a 12x12 room with a rollaway bed. The toilets feel made for children, you’ll be squatting, and the bed was extra firm, like sleeping on a brick. It’s good enough for solo travel, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a group.

The rooms felt boutique and cozy, with clean, stylish decor, comfortable beds, a modern bathroom, and great shower pressure. We had a nice city view from a higher floor, and it felt spacious for NYC. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and throughout, with quick responses. The hotel is right in the heart of SoHo on Grand St, steps from trendy shops, Little Italy food, Chinatown, and the nearby Canal St subway. It’s a great base for exploring Lower Manhattan without the Midtown rush, and good boutique value. I’d definitely stay again. 4 stars.

We were glad Devonte was there when we checked out too. He was really friendly at check-in and gave us a warm welcome after a long trip from another part of the 🌎. The stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean, though room service sometimes missed the table area. One night the waste bin was full, and it wasn’t emptied the next day even though the beds, bathroom, and tabletop had been cleaned. We were tired and just wanted to shower and sleep, so we didn’t call. Thankfully, it was emptied the following day. The shower had hot water, but the spray was too strong, though that wasn’t a major issue.
