YOTEL New York Times Square

We booked this place because we love Yotel Boston, but won't return to this location. In room 1605, an alarm from the elevator was going off, and within minutes we noticed the TV looked like it was barely hanging on and the purple lighting didn't work. The staff member moved us right away to 1627, where the alarm wasn't an issue and the purple lights worked. But the room phone, the outlet on the right side of the bed, and the towel warmer were broken. The shower also kept leaking heavily for two hours after being turned off, loud enough to hear over the TV. Our biggest disappointment was the rooftop terrace, the main reason we chose this location. It was advertised across platforms as an amenity we could use, but was unavailable for our entire trip, despite the resort fee we were charged each night. We would have booked somewhere else had we known. The website, doors, and check-in gave no notice, and the door even says “Open 11:30am daily.” We'd appreciate a response.

Yotel was a good fit for our short stop, and comparable to another Yotel location we've stayed at. I booked through DayUse while in the City for the day, needing a few hours to nap, freshen up, and change before an event. It's great that Yotel and DayUse offer this option. The room was small but clean, though some furniture was scuffed. The bed recline buttons didn't work, but neither issue affected our stay.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We were also well placed, about a ten-minute walk from Times Square and subway stations. We returned after staying here five years ago and were just as happy with the experience. Marilyn deserves a special mention for her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. She went above and beyond and made us feel valued. We'd gladly recommend the hotel and come back. Thanks for a memorable stay!

If you just want a place to sleep and shower, this is fine as long as you keep expectations realistic. I stayed here on two separate weekends this month. The rooms are small, clean, and comfy, the location is great, and advance bookings can be affordable. Elevators come quickly. I'd say it's basically a hostel with private rooms, best for solo travelers or couples who can manage with limited space and basic amenities. Don't expect a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, or other in-room extras. The toilet and shower sit behind a rolling glass door that doesn't reach the wall because of the baseboards, so you'll hear everything if you're sharing. Most public amenities were broken during my stays: I tried four floors for ice before giving up and asking the very kind bartender at the restaurant on 4. Self-check-in tablets and the luggage storage bot didn't work. The front desk employees were nice, though their laptops seemed to fail constantly. I spent much of check-in staring at an employee while the laptop loaded.
