Comfort Inn & Suites Newark - Wilmington

The shower was amazing, and the bathroom gets a 10/10. The room itself was good and about 8/10 clean. It could’ve used a vacuum under the bed, but the rest was fine. There were people smoking marijuana in the room next to mine. I still haven’t gotten my deposit back, and they’re late returning it.

I’ve stayed here a few times while visiting my doctor, and it’s much better than the other places around here. The breakfast is nice, the staff are great, and coffee is free. Even my kids had fun in the pool. I won’t be seeing this doctor anymore, unfortunately, but good luck to you all!

The reservation I made through hotels.com wasn’t in their system when I arrived. There were plenty of problems in the room, too: the toilet barely flushed properly, I found hair on the bathroom floor and in the bed, the neighbors were extremely loud, and there was a fairly large worm in the room. I left early and explained why. They said my deposit would be returned and that they’d contact me, while hotels.com would send an invoice. My balance hasn’t changed for that night. When I called, the hotel said hotels.com had to handle the refund because I booked through a third party. hotels.com said they needed to speak with the property first. The hotel then told them I’d said I had a “family emergency.” That wasn’t true. I lost my father earlier this year, and I take family and emergencies seriously. Because of that lie, hotels.com couldn’t issue the refund. Please avoid this place.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The front desk manager with red hair and the Black woman were incredibly rude. I work nights, but they woke me at 9 a.m. to ask for a deposit, came back to my door at 10:30, then kept calling the hotel phone at 11. I’d already paid a deposit and had an extension without being asked for this. This was my third extension. I filed a formal complaint with corporate, and they still won’t let me sleep. Don’t stay here!
