Fairfield Inn & Suites Newark Liberty International Airport

The shuttle was merely okay, but the property itself made a strong impression. My updated room was clean, and housekeeping clearly takes pride in keeping things that way. Breakfast is mostly packaged, though the coffee, fresh fruit, and yogurt were just right. The comfort and quality here stand out, and I wish more hotels nearby put in the same effort. The staff really make a difference. I'd happily stay again.

Check-in went quickly, and I found the room comfortable and clean. There were also plenty of good breakfast choices. The hard part was locating the free shuttle at Terminal A. There wasn't useful airport signage, and the hotel site had no directions. When I called, they said to go to P3, but I still couldn't find signs. I know construction at Newark Airport may have contributed, and that's not the hotel's fault, but a webpage explaining where to meet would have helped a lot. It was 12:30 a.m., close to 0 degrees outside, and I was completely lost. I wish finding the pickup point had been easier.

The room was dirty, with hair and mold in the shower and stained sheets. The front desk came across as indifferent and unpleasant, too. I'd spend my money elsewhere. Getting to EWR was a headache as well. The free shuttle has only four seats, and it was booked for the first five hours of the morning, so I had to pay about $20 for a rideshare. Why advertise a complimentary shuttle if guests can't get a seat? They also said they were considering getting rid of it altogether. Don't stay here if you want an easy airport trip or a pleasant stay.

Our room was huge, with a sitting area, a very comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom. The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout. We stayed one night before a flight, and the continental breakfast before taking the hotel shuttle to the airport was a nice surprise. We had a great stay and will use them again next time we travel.
