The beds were comfortable, which was about the only good thing. We’d booked a suite for a staycation because the location looked nice, but there was no elevator and our room was on the third floor with our three-year-old. The pool area was freezing, with all the doors and windows open. There were no towels, and after my wife asked at the desk, we shivered for 20 minutes before getting two towels for the three of us. A father with two children was also given only two towels. As we were leaving, a SWAT team raided a room. At 2 a.m., there were roaches in the bathroom. The TV barely worked, and I had to stand right next to it to change channels. There was also an unexpected $12 service charge when we arrived, which wasn’t refunded. I’ve never encountered that before. Maybe a refund would raise my rating, but this stay was just not it.

We arrived very late, so we didn’t get a proper look around, but I wish we had. Our room looked like a crime scene, with dried blood everywhere and mold throughout the bathroom. The next morning, we asked to change rooms. The manager first said all he could do was change the sheets. After we complained, he said he wanted to make us happy and showed us another room, which was fine for the time being. He refused any refund or even a discount for having to sleep in the first room. Then he offered a discount for a future stay, as if we’d ever come back. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Avoid this hell hole. It’s a biohazard for guests.

For the price, we were pleased and really enjoyed our stay. I’ve never slept better in a hotel; the mattress was amazing. The toilet had some problems, though, and the water pressure was poor. I’d recommend it as a decent, cheaper place with easy access to everything.

Much better than last night. I let earlier reviews put me off, and that was a mistake. The lobby, hallway, and room had no smell of cigarettes or pot at all, so my nose and head are happy. There was some dirt or maybe mold in the heating and AC unit, two burn holes in the sheets, and no conditioner in the shower. For us, those were small trade-offs for a few nights compared with having to smell a Woodstock concert.
