Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn

The manager was fantastic and refunded our dinner on the last day, but that didn't give us back the evening we spent eating at the hotel restaurant. We'd been told breakfast and dinner came with the stay, so we were surprised to be chased down afterward and told dinner wasn't complimentary. There wasn't a free breakfast either. We felt misled, and with only four days to explore, we wouldn't have chosen to spend one of our dinners staring at a wall in the place we were staying. It was upsetting and stressful. The rooms were expensive without breakfast included, and the pool is incredibly small. It's a beautiful hotel and I'd like to return, but I'll research more carefully first.

Yaquina Head shining in the distance and a beautiful beach just steps away made the setting feel perfect. The pool was warm, and the hotel was lovely, clean, and in a great location. Every staff member treated us kindly and gave great service. Kym checked us in and set a welcoming tone. One of my best overnight stays in a long time. We'll be back, this is our new favorite Newport hotel.

We've stayed at plenty of places in Newport, and this one has been the best for us. The rooms on the top floor at the south end are now non-pet rooms and have fantastic views. Furnishings and décor are top rate, with beautiful abstract art, linen wallpaper in the room and bath, very comfortable beds, and a new huge-screen TV. The general manager was friendly and went out of his way to help us connect an electronic device to the TV. We'll be back.

The ocean-view room was worth the upgrade. We could see and hear the waves, and there was plenty of space to spread out. The staff were very friendly and offered helpful ideas for things to do around town during our enjoyable stay at the Best Western Plus Agate Beach in Newport. The lobby's Christmas decorations added a fun holiday feel. The supplied shampoo and toiletries had a pleasant orange citrus scent that wasn't overpowering. Nearby, the BLM-managed lighthouse and beach are a must-visit. Hearing the surf lift and drop the rocks is a memorable reminder of its power. Bring your National Parks pass.
