Cherished Memories by Jackson Mountain Rentals

March 5-13. My husband and I ended up in this cabin for our honeymoon because the one we’d booked first, Nestled Inn, was damaged in the previous wind storm. The drive up and golf course were peaceful, and everyone we met was kind and kept to themselves. The cabin is in a relaxing, fairly secluded spot, but it needs updates and more things supplied. It was very musty, like it had been shut up for months. The downstairs toilet kept clogging, and there was a moldy ceiling leak in the downstairs bathroom, possibly from the upstairs tub. The bedroom fans didn’t work, and half the TV channels were unavailable because of “payment,” though the TV was the least of our concerns. The lamps and light switches were extremely touchy, almost like an electrical problem. We cooked dinner once during our seven-night stay, but there were no oven mitts or hot pads. We’d also been told there was a pool or hot tub, but there was neither. We had to buy items we needed ourselves. It was a decent cabin, just very poorly maintained. I wouldn’t stay in this particular one again. I’d rate it 4/10.

It was a nice cabin, though the view wasn’t as good as the ones at cabins we’ve stayed in before. There are only two Jacuzzi tubs and no showers, which is a strange setup and not suitable for someone with mobility issues. Read the listing carefully before you book.

Nice cabin, just a little pricey.
