Extended Stay America Select Suites - Odessa

Our room was canceled at 7 p.m., just half an hour before we arrived for a conference from California. They said it was because of overbooking, and we were left with no other options. Don't ever stay here.

The room was very large, and the bed was comfortable enough. It was a decent stay overall, but the lack of cleaning was a problem for me. Housekeeping cleaned only once in the seven days I was there and never took my trash. They made the bed only once, too. The TV wouldn't turn off, and the remote couldn't adjust its volume.

Beware. The manager walked into my husband's room without knocking and shut the door behind him. When we reported it, we were told the manager can inspect whenever he wants. I didn't like what was going on around us, either. You might be doing something in a motel that you don't want others to see, so be careful.

We stayed for three months and paying by the week was easy. Extending beyond our original reservation was simple, too. The property is right off the highway, close to grocery stores, restaurants, and entertainment. There's a train track nearby, but the trains didn't bother us. We stayed while several units were being upgraded. Our room got fresh paint, and the fridge and AC were replaced with new ones during our stay. The maintenance men were friendly and quick to respond when we needed something. Viktor at the front desk was very accommodating, especially when we asked to move into a larger room that opened up. He walks around the property a few times a day to keep an eye on things. It was quiet, with no loitering and no vehicle break-ins. Pets are allowed. Mari and the other cleaning ladies were very nice and checked each day whether we needed fresh towels, toilet paper, or anything else. If my kids were still asleep, since they sleep in during summer, and we didn't need new sheets or towels, I'd leave a note on the door and they wouldn't disturb us. Thank you all.
