The Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort

We love the Sparhawk and have recommended it to several friends over the years. We’ve stayed in nearly every building, but Ireland House suites are our favorite. Denise and her staff are so nice and attentive, and we appreciate the work that goes into it. Breakfast is just enough. The setting is outstanding, with beautiful views of Ogunquit Beach and famous Marginal Way, which you can access right from the resort. This has been our go-to twice a year for as long as I can remember, and we’ll keep coming as long as we’re able. We rate it a 10.

Everything about room 76 worked out perfectly, from the comfortable beds and bedding to the pillows and spacious room. I loved the partial ocean view from the lower level. The location is stunning, and the price was just right. Michael helped me with the original booking, then a very nice woman answered my follow-up questions and gave me lots of tips on places to eat and things to do. When I arrived for a late check-in around 10, Adnan, I hope I have the name right, was super nice. I loved my stay and will ask for room 79 at the end next time.

There’s a bit of an old, funky smell in the room, but otherwise it was spotless and well maintained. The towels were nice and heavy, the shower was walk-in, and there was seating indoors and on the balcony. The rooms are great, and breakfast is free. Lots of regulars give the place a quiet, unhurried feel. The setting is amazing, with ocean views over the rocky shore, the river inlet and its changing tides, homes along the shoreline, and the beach jetty. Marginal Way borders the property for beautiful walks, and shops are a short stroll away. You won’t be disappointed.

Breakfast was included, with a variety of good, healthy cold options. We loved how close the ocean was and the great views. At low tide, the beach is lovely for walks and swimming. Mariner Way is right there, too, great for exercise with coastal views the whole way. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. We’ll definitely stay at the Sparhawk again.
