Tae was wonderful when I called to reserve a room for my mom’s one-night post-op stay after surgery at a nearby hospital. She was prompt, professional, personable, proficient, and polite. She listened to what we needed and said she’d do her best to accommodate an early check-in on the day, though she couldn’t promise one. On the day of the procedure, my dad called before Mom was discharged to ask whether the room would be ready. Amy Jordan, who later said she was one of the managers, answered and was unhelpful and very rude. My dad called me since I’d been working with Tae. When I called and asked for Tae, the person who answered said they could help and I didn’t need Tae. I thanked them and explained Tae and I had already been working together, but was told she was unavailable. Amy insisted she could help, then confirmed she’d spoken with my dad and said no room was available and early check-in wouldn’t be accommodated. I understood that early check-in wasn’t guaranteed, but asked when my parents could check in. I explained several times that my mom had just had surgery and needed to get into a room. Amy argued there was nothing she could do. After nearly ten minutes of pleading, she finally called housekeeping to check for a clean room. Lo and behold, one was available. The unnecessary stress she put on my parents after my mom’s surgery was ridiculous. My parents should get some or all of their points back. I don’t think the hospital should recommend this location to patients.
