Holiday Inn Express & Suites Midwest by IHG

The rest of our stay was good. I had left a one-star review because some items were missing, but they were found and I got a call to pick them up. I'm grateful to have them back, regardless of how they turned up.

If you book a room with a couch bed, check it before using it. Ours was shockingly disgusting: mouse droppings, awful stains, and under the mattress there was a KFC honey packet and an unknown white powder. My son helped the front desk staff carry it out and replace it with a clean one. He ended up sweaty and exhausted. We didn't take photos, though we should have.

I called after realizing I'd left designer jeans and a top, a designer business suit, and designer ankle boots in the closet. When I finally reached someone, none of it could be found, even though nobody had stayed in the room after me. I know it was my fault for leaving them, but I'm very disappointed there wasn't even an apology or any sign of concern. If there are thieves on staff, I can't trust the hotel, or feel sure about my privacy or safety.

We paid a good price for a very clean, spacious room where everything worked. The employees were friendly and helpful, and seemed to take pride in the place. The location was just right: outside crowded downtown, across from Walmart for anything we needed, and right by the highway so we could get back on our way quickly. I'd definitely stay here again.
