Holiday Inn Omaha Southwest

The hotel was nice overall, and the service was great. I appreciated the help with my room service order. I had asked for a quiet room, but the room needs maintenance and, in my opinion, a deep clean.

For what we paid, this wasn't what we expected. It's close to the freeway, and they've tried to update the place, but the bed was awful and the windows and blackout coverage were poor. There was some noise. The breakfast voucher and the system for using it were bad, and the staff weren't friendly or helpful.

Maia at the bar was so sweet and did a fantastic job. The desk clerk was friendly and polite too, and the outside and lobby looked well cared for, with a nice, bright, welcoming entrance. If the staff hadn't been so good, we would have called it a no. Inside the room, though, the smell was awful, like our grandmother's perfume mixed with knock-off Listerine after smoking a Virginia Slim. There were stains on the carpet, the chair, and the side of the cabinet holding the refrigerator. We ran the AC hard to try to reduce the smell, left, came back, then went out again. After a few drinks, we gave up and dealt with it. I'm also keeping an eye on my card to make sure the $60.17 charge for "incidentals" gets credited back. There wasn't $60.17 worth of incidentals.

The staff were friendly, and being able to bring a dog is a big plus. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and very clean, though there were a few carpet stains. The internet was a little slow. It's right off the highway and close to shopping, food, and pretty much anything you might need. A nice hotel, especially if you mainly need a good night's sleep.
