For the money, I honestly thought it was great. At check in, the woman behind what looked like bulletproof glass made me wonder if I’d chosen the right place. But it turned out to be quite nice. Our double bed room was a decent size and clean, and there was plenty of soap, shampoo, and toilet paper. It even had a fridge and microwave, which stood out since my hotel near the Vegas strip didn’t have a microwave. The housekeeper did a great job keeping things clean, and parking was free. There were signs advising guests to take all valuables out of the car. That’s sensible advice anywhere on the West Coast. I usually did, but accidentally left my wallet in the car on the last night. No one broke in by the time I checked out the next morning, so I guess I got lucky. I didn’t try the free breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. Some other guests were noisy, and you could hear louder engines from the nearby road and highway. Even so, I’d absolutely stay here again on my next trip to the West Coast.

I don’t know where that first review came from. I didn’t leave a one star rating, so I may have hit it by accident. I had a good experience here and stayed last week too. It was peaceful.

Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout the few days I stayed, and the rooms and whole building have a modern look and feel. The front desk was able to accommodate me, and I really appreciated the effort. It was a pleasant stay, quiet and calm apart from some freeway noise. That’s to be expected, and you can barely hear it unless a door or window is open. I’d most likely stay here again if I return to the area.

The water pressure was great, which isn’t always a given in SoCal. Still, I was a bit surprised by the stay after seeing a 9.0 rating. There was only one coffee packet in the room.

Hotel Seville is in a location about as exciting as watching paint dry, but I paid for what I got and wasn’t expecting the French Riviera. The service lifted what could have been a three star, so so stay. The staff actually seemed happy to see me, which was refreshing. Special mention to Renee, I think that was her name. My memory isn’t great after 6 a.m. wake up calls, but she was lovely and made check in feel more like catching up with a friend than handling a business transaction. That wake up call came from some random guy knocking on my door at 6 a.m., like he was doing morning percussion practice. It had nothing to do with the hotel, just one of life’s little mysteries, like why airplane peanut bags need an engineering degree to open. Hotel Seville is good value, and the service actually made me smile. The location won’t win any beauty contests, but the staff will win your hearts. Four stars. I’d stay again, hopefully next time without the surprise door knocking alarm clock.
