Mountain Inn

I hate to leave a bad review, but I don't want people wasting their money. The room had no hot water at the sink, and the towels were dirty and worn. The sink light was out, and the door was broken and nearly impossible to close. The so-called “Continental Breakfast” was just dry cereal, with no coffee. At least the location was easy to find, across from a Starbucks and a four-minute walk from Black Bear Diner. Breakfast there was wonderful, though it wasn't free.

There wasn't any kind of “continental breakfast,” which felt like blatant false advertising to me. The sink wouldn't drain, the door lock and lampshade were broken, and overhead lights were missing. Even the basic cleaning expectations for a “cheap motel” weren't met. I'll let you imagine what that means.

I had a great rate, and the staff were very nice. If you're staying awhile, they'll give an even better deal. Rooms are spacious and clean, with renovated touches like fresh paint, clean carpet, and a big TV. The beds are clean and comfortable. A couple of small things need maintenance, the light fixture and towel rack are loose, but they said they'd fix them promptly. My one real gripe is there's nowhere to hang clothes, not even a hook for a jacket. I didn't see any shady people around, no homeless people or drug dealers. I'd stay again anytime.

The rooms aren't that great, and management has an attitude problem. This is the kind of place you'd stay only if you had absolutely nowhere else to go. I wouldn't recommend it. When you're short on money, desperate calls for desperate measures, but keep your standards. Bedbugs will follow you.
