Courtyard Cleveland Beachwood

The room was clean with no issues, and we liked the view of the Porsche building. Check-in and checkout were easy, and all the staff were polite and courteous. We were there for the Chimaira Christmas show, December 20, and the neighborhood seemed fine, though there was quite a bit of traffic earlier in the day. Bob Evans across the street worked well for breakfast since we skipped the à la carte option, which wasn’t included in the $150.40 room cost.

There was a foot of snow when we woke up, and Noah from the desk went out of his way to help. It wasn’t his job, but he shoveled around and to my car, brushed it off, and helped me get my wheelchair into it. I’m staying here while my husband, who cares for me, is in the hospital across the way. The person assigned to the snow hadn’t arrived at work yet. I hope the hotel recognizes Noah for the extra help. I especially recommend this place to people with disabilities.

Marriott beds are still comfortable, but that was about the only thing we liked. The mini fridge was tiny, barely big enough for four waters, and the ice machine on our floor was the same broken one it had been before the renovation, so I had to go down a floor for ice. The new carpet and furniture didn’t make the furniture comfortable, and the bathrooms are still outdated. They painted the outside, but this hotel was better before the new owners and renovators took over. We’ve stayed here for several years and always booked an “executive suite.” After the renovation, we were assigned an ADA room even though I had specifically said we didn’t want one. Worse, there was no handle on the balcony sliding door. We told the front desk that day. Someone looked at it that evening, but we heard nothing the next day, so I reminded them again as we went out to eat. Nobody followed up during our four-night stay. The desk did nothing to help with the room issue. Avoid Executive Suite #316. We paid almost $1,500 for a very disappointing stay and probably won’t return.

This was the worst service I’ve ever had. I had a reservation, showed my ID, paid, and took the room. It had two queen beds, which I said was okay, and the Wi-Fi wouldn’t work with my last name, but I let that go too. Then at 9:30 pm, while I was asleep, she called and told me I’d been put in the wrong room and had to come down to fix it. She said she’d made a mistake with my family name. Why ask for my ID, then? It was unbelievable and unacceptable. There was also a false alarm at midnight. This is the shittiest hotel I’ve ever seen.
