The one nice perk was free parking, and the woman who checked me in was friendly and helpful. But the room looked nothing like the photos on Google. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, and a dead cockroach was on the floor. The kitchenette was dirty, with a cooktop that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. You get what you pay for: a bed and shower. I won’t return. The check-in counter is open only from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; outside those hours you use the phone in the entryway and management has to be called to let you in. There seemed to be quite a few long-term residents. See attached video of my room tour.

We’ve been on the second floor for less than two hours and have already seen six roaches crawling around the room. My kids are allergic to them. When I asked the front desk if someone could check another room, he said he was too busy. If there are this many in one room, it seems like the whole building could be affected. Customer service isn’t hard to provide. Choose somewhere else.

I was really disappointed and won’t return. I believe a brand should be consistent, but after three ESA locations, quality seems to depend on who manages each one. We chose this hotel for its advertised fully equipped kitchen and proximity to the convention center. The appliances looked about 30 years old, and there were no utensils, pans, plates, or cups. A card said to call the front desk for these items, presumably for a price, despite the listing describing fully stocked kitchens. The room looked clean at first, though I saw some kind of bug in the bathroom after my shower. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and I could feel the springs. Toiletries were sample shampoo and little soaps, not the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted in the shower at another ESA I’d stayed at. There was an ironing board but no hair dryer. The lobby smelled like cat urine and the elevators like pot. There’s about a 15-minute walk to the convention center’s West Wing; for the North Wing, plan on 30 to 45 minutes on foot or bring a car. No hot breakfast.

The service was alright, but the room had no working AC and was like a boiler room. After working 20 hours, I just needed to rest and couldn’t because of the heat. I was sharing the room with a coworker, and there was no hot water either, so even a comfortable shower wasn’t possible. This place needs to be rebuilt or sold off.
